A matcha hand sifter(Chakoshi) is used to sift matcha to remove matcha lumps.
When sifting you can use the matcha spoon to push matcha through the strainer.
Steep loose leaf tea, catch seeds, and pulp, and strain mulled spices, herbal infusions, and more.

If you don’t have a teaball, you can easily make do with two glasses of the same size. Simply steep your loose tea and water in one glass for the recommended time. After steeping, pour the tea through this strainer into the second glass. Place the strainer over the first glass with the remaining loose tea to prepare for your next steeping.
This strainer might also be referred to as a tea sieve or matcha filter.
