Product Overview

Ingredients: Peppermint, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Lemon balm, Ginger, Licorice, Fennel, Burdock root, Cornflower petals.

Information: When it comes to human wellbeing, the ancient physician Hippocrates (460 BC - 370 BC) summed it up succinctly: "All disease begins in the gut." Unfortunately, in our busy modern age, gut health too often falls to the wayside. Our busy lives mean many of us rely too much on foods we know aren‟t good for us. In America alone, more than 50 million people eat fast food every single day - a staggering number to say the least.

With meals-on-the-go a reality for so many of us, what to do?

Drink herbal tea! Belly Becalm, a luscious, flavorful concoction of premium herbs and flowers was blended to combat the problem.

The blend, a smorgasbord of ingredients selected for their purported ability to aid digestion and soothe the gut, hits all the right notes.

We start with peppermint, prized as a digestive aid by Native Americans for millennia. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, peppermint "calms the muscles of the stomach and improves the flow of bile, which the body uses to digest fats."

Belly Becalm also incorporates cinnamon, cardamom, lemon balm and ginger, a collection of herbs said to aid digestion, by Ayurvedic practitioners.

Rounding out the blend are antioxidant-rich licorice, fennel, and Burdock root, all considered to be digestive powerhouses by adherents of traditional medicine.

The next time your stomach is rumbling, and it isn‟t from hunger, grab the kettle, pour yourself a cup and settle in for a dose of calming comfort. Here‟s to Hippocrates.

Hot tea brewing method: Bring filtered or freshly drawn cold water to a rolling boil. Place 1 teaspoon of herbal tea for each 7-9oz/200-260ml of fluid volume in the teapot. Pour the boiling water into the teapot. Cover and let steep for 5-10 minutes according to taste (the longer the steeping time, the better the flavor as more fruit and herb flavor is extracted). Garnish and sweeten to taste.

Iced tea brewing method (Pitcher): (to make 1 liter/quart): Place 12 slightly heaping teaspoons of herbal tea into a teapot or heat resistant pitcher. Using filtered or freshly drawn cold water, boil and pour 1¼ cups/315ml over the herbal tea. Steep for 5-10 minutes. Quarter fill a serving pitcher with cold water. Pour the tea into your serving pitcher straining the tea or removing the tea bags. Add ice and top-up the pitcher with cold water. Garnish and sweeten
